Shrub 1.5m in 10 years with an open spreading habit

Flowers: Compact, round trusses of 9-19 flowers with wavy edged petals, 60-80mm wide, pale lilac in bud, opening white, with lilac tints and a very conspicuous, large, black red blotch.

Mid-May - early-June

Not scented

Foliage: Elepidote. Elliptic leaves are about 100mm long, dark green

Other Information: May be commercially available. Do not confuse this rhododendron with those from the lower growing Hyperion Group, raised by Lord Aberconway in 1931; the flowers of this Group are blood red
