Distribution: This azalea was introduced by Standish from Japan in 1896. It no longer grows in the wild in Japan but is in cultivation in many parts of the world

Other Information: A clone of R. macrosepalum. An azalea for the experienced grower; very brittle and so subject to damage by wind, wildlife and frost. Needs a sheltered spot in the garden. Commercially available
